WRITING A CONCLUSION FOR A SCIENCE LAB
Conclusions must include:
Sample Conclusion based on the Wet Blanket Experiment
In this experiment we found that when we removed the oxygen (O2 ) from the fire it went out. My hypothesis is supported by the data. The evidence for this is when we added baking soda to vinegar water it produced bubbles of carbon dioxide (CO2) which pushed O2 out. I think this happened because CO2 is heavier than O2. One way I could improve this experiment is by making sure I pour all of the baking soda into the vinegar water and not into the cap that held the candle.
Conclusions must include:
- An answer to the “problem” question
- Whether or not the data supported the hypothesis
- Evidence (your results)
- Explain why you think this happened (make an inference)
- What could have been done differently to improve the lab
